Fraser Thomas goes to Sri Lanka

Fraser Thomas are at present undertaking three projects in Sri Lanka.  The first is to identify water sources for six towns and to prepare preliminary plans and economic models to prepare the way for the construction of  water supply systems which will provide a safe and convenient supply of water to the homes within those towns.

The second project investigates the existing processes for the collection of rain water from the roofs of the dwellings throughout the rural areas of Sri Lanka.  The project looks at the way in which this is done at present, the community based organisations that assist in this and the reasons why this method of obtaining a supply of water is not universally popular throughout the region.  As a second phase the project investigates the water quality of stored water and proposes methods of water testing that can be quickly and easily undertaken by the occupiers of the dwellings and overseen by CBO's setup to monitor water quality and to assist in the treatment of the water where necessary.

In the third phase the project will set up water quality monitoring procedures
